Hey guys sorry its been so long since my last post have just rebooted the account. Where to Start...This last year has been an amazing journey to put it lightly! Firstly living in London city was such a cool experience in itself, from spending time in the cool outer suburbs like Richmond with so many great cafes right on the river thames and even just the massive parks to the utter size and Buzz that is London City, with each area being so different to the next. Now to the Rugby, could not speak more highly of the London Irish club from the team to supporters it just has a great family feel about it. Adapting to the premiership was challenging at first, just trying to understand the different thought processes of the northern hemisphere game was tough then when you add in the weather conditions it really tested a part of my game which hadnt been challenged in that sense before. As a 1st or 2nd ball player over here the emphasis on controlling the game and making sure you are playing in the right area of the field is a lot more demanding. I found the premiership was a closer game to that of test rugby where you MUST come away with points whenever you get into the oppositions half and the margins for error is so small that 1 mistake or bad kick can cost your team the game. The biggest difference i found was the precision of tactical kicking, every team had at least two players who could find space with ease so as a 15 you had to really be on your game. Also the amount of driving Mauls and scrumming specifically for penalties was something that was very knew to me. Overall what an awesome experience and one in which i think has really added another dimension to my game. Anyways enough for now, next week ill fill you all in about down in the South of France at Toulon and where i am right now:)
