Hi All, This is Tim..... To those folks who are following The Debbie Shirt Story, heres the straight facts...... * Early August Debbie had an acute attack of diverticulitis that had her hospitalized at Mt. Vernon for a week--The doc chose to medicate to calm down everything instead of surgery. ( Trying to avoid the colostomy bag--EEWW!!) * Debbie healed somewhat and started school but felt lousy for most of Sept. (Doc told her not to put off surgery as it could return w/more severity) * Surgery was scheduled for Sept 23 at Alexandria Hospital....She was to have a colon resection done which usually takes 3 hrs. with a 3-5 day recovery stay. Well....she was in surgery for 5 1/2 hours and stayed in the hospital for 8 days. * I brought her home this past Tuesday evening to a daybed w/TV in the living room where she was steps away from the bathroom and kitchen. * She had a tough day on Wednesday w/ vomiting and very red and sore lower abdomen from a spreading infection. Called up the doctor and the doctor said....No more monkeys jumping on the bed!!! Sorry couldnt resist .....take her to the emergency room to be checked out * On Wednesday evening she was transported to Mt. Vernon Hospital with an infection in her incision, phlebitis in her arms, and the mystery as to why shes barfing when real food is eaten. She is still in the hospital and will stay until they figure out the problems and she heals. she is currently enjoying her full liquid diet. Hopefully this is not TMI but now you know the REST of the story. Should anyone want to visit, she would love. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and support. I now return this facebook to our usual comedy hour w/ Jonathan.
