Hi Korean expat hive mind! I have a question for you folks: Im a bit of a lifer (10 years) and am trying to move into a better place, but need a bit more cash for the key money. I have worked at a job with a private pension for the last 7 years. My first 3 years were at two jobs that paid into the government pension. My government pension money is just sitting there, has been for ages, and I would like to try and get a hold of it to throw towards a nicer place. I know that the rule is you have to be leaving Korea permanently to get the cash. How deeply do they check? If I went to the office with a one-way ticket home, would that be sufficient to fill out all the paperwork to get my money? Does anyone really know? I expect totally contradictory answers, but hell, I gotta ask.
