Hi Levites: So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel written about in Jgs. 4 although Scripture doesnt abstract God from historical process, the act of Jael is described, but the victory is ascribed to God. The attitude toward history throughout the Bible is consistent. God allows the unbelievers to chasten His people, and God raises up delivers to save them. (4:23) Cause and effect is meaningful at the historical level, but Gods seemingly seen as the Power behind all that takes place, good or bad. Its not necessary to justify Jaels act even wicked deeds here are represented in Scripture as furthering Gods ultimate purposes (Acts. 2:23,24; Ps. 76:10).
