Hi Masters Alpiners! In a recent post here from Tony Mainz, we discussed the addition of a Masters Division to the Race to the Cup (USSA/FIS). We had positive discussion and are very receptive to having Masters races held in conjunction with the Race to the Cup events. It would ultimately be the decision of each race host to incorporate an event into their event. About Race to the Cup! my.ussa.org/aip/snowboarding/race-cup https://facebook/RacetotheCup (Please check out and like/share our Facebook page) Initial ideas and thoughts: Initially hold a Masters race immediately following a RTTC (same day) Eventually as numbers grow hold a Masters race on a separate day at a RTTC This could be a USSA (only) sanctioned race instead of FIS (then no FIS license is required). 2-Run Final initially and eventually grow into a knockout Stand alone event (much more difficult without big numbers) in the future!? Any feedback would be welcome. Im not as familiar with this group page, so you may message me as well. At our Buck Hill RTTC, we made our event into somewhat of an alpine festival of sorts, with something for everyone. We actually had a kids race, Junior FIS Race, 2 NorAms and we awarded and recognized the top masters within the NorAms themselves. I know that wed be on board to having a Masters Race in the 2016 Championship season. If we had big numbers, wed definitely consider holding a Masters on a separate day from the NorAm. We definitely see the value in doing this, as were always looking for ways to grow the sport and support the terrific athletes!! Cheers!
