Hi. This is Mabel. Its a nice, chilly, sunny day today! Mama #2 marched us to the other Duck Pond in our neighborhood --- the one with the funny looking trees. This pond doesnt have as much water as it used to, so that means theres more for us to sniff! We love watching the ducks swim and quack around, but we keep our distance. These ducks are mean! We marched and sniffed, marched and sniffed, and then we started to march home. Suddenly, Mama #2 took a couple of quick steps, then fell face first onto the grass! (She stepped on one of the big acorns laying around). Right away, Me and my sisters all jumped on her, just to make sure she was OK and wasnt just playing with us. Mama #2 lay there in the grass for a minute and, just as some people came over to ask if she was OK, she jumped up, told them she was fine, and quickly marched us all off towards home. She kept picked duck stuff and grass off her clothes. (Harley chased all the little feathers she plucked off). We almost ran home; Mama #2 was pretty stinky from all the duck stuff on her sweats. I cant say for sure what it was, but it smelled pretty bad. She kept muttering things like, Nasty Ducks. As soon as we marched in the door at home, Mama #2 put all of her marching clothes (jacket too!) in the washing machine --- she didnt even give us our chewy bone marching rewards first. You know, if she is going to trip over acorns, she shouldnt get so upset that she gets dirty. Even I know that if you roll in the dirt and grass, you get dirty....
