Hi and thanks for the add, Ive been mainly a carp fisherman in the past but this year when the weather gets warmer I fancy trying for some eels, they have always fascinated me and I have only ever managed to catch a few but never by design. I think im upto speed on safely handling and unhooking them. But I could do with some tips on rigs and tackle, Ive read a lot of conflicting advise on rods and rigs ect. Would my 2 3/4 tc carp rods be any good? and what about rigs? Ive read about a free running rig with an open bail arm as they dot like to feel any resistance. In my carp fishing Id always like to keep my rigs as simple as the conditions allow, and it always paid off.
