Hi everyone. My friend asked me for advice today for her 1 year old Border Collie. He nipped twice at her little nephew (10 years old). The first time he nipped him in the cheek and the second time in the arm. She told me that she thought he did it the first time out of protectiveness of her little daughter (also ten years old). Because it happened when the boy and girl were playing. The second time he nipped at him the moment that he saw him. When they came in the pup first greeted the boys mom and dad and when he noticed the boy he nipped him in the arm. Now they are scared that this is going to keep happening and that the behavior might get worse so they asked me what they could do. I gave them the advice to try to get the dog to associate the little boy with positive things - by rewarding him whenever he looks at the boy or interacts with him. Any other ideas or advice? Thanks!
