Hi everyone and a belated Happy New year to those I haven’t seen since Christmas. I know it’s short notice but some of you may know that I’ve had one or two medical problems in the last month or so. Thank goodness all is good enough now for me to get things rolling. This coming Saturday morning I propose an outing to Broadway Market in London’s Hackney. It’s a very lively and eclectic street market with some charming stalls with a great range of goods on display. Some interesting shops as well and plenty of people too. At the south end of the market we find The Cat And Mutton Bridge crossing the canal. Steps lead down to the canal where there are an amazing array of houseboats as well as a floating bibliotheque and sometimes a floating bandstand. On the east side of the canal there are derelict buildings and a disused Gasometer so all in all there should be enough to satisfy all photographic tastes. I suggest those who want to come along should meet outside Wanstead House at 10:30am from where subject to numbers we can either take my taxi and a couple of car driving volunteers to the end of Victoria Park Road and hopefully enjoy two or three hours of photography.
