Hi everyone, this is Nicks mom, Barbara. I just want to update you on his condition and for those of you that dont know what happened Id like to summarize what has happened so far. On Sunday Nick was riding his dirt bike with friends, he decided to do a jump, I am told he was 15 feet in the air and didnt land back on his bike but landed instead on his head. He was life flighted to St. Als in Boise. He is now in the ICU and will probably remain there for awhile. He is in a coma and has a serious brain/head injury. He also broke his right eye socket. The major concern is the brain. He has a tube in his head that is attached to a machine that is monitoring the pressure in his brain and draining fluids from his head. His brain swelled up but there hasnt been any changes in the last 2 days. His vitals are good. I am going to try to update you daily as to any changes there are. When I was there earlier today, he actually opened his eyes!! It was just for a second but I was extremely excited to see those baby blues again! He was really moving around a lot, mostly on the left side of his body. Skyview High School sent him a candy bar bouquet today, it is so cute. Also, Jacob brought a Get Well card with a whole lot of signatures on there from all of you!! Thank you all so much for your well wishes and prayers and thoughts. I cant tell you how much that means to me and WILL mean to Nick when he wakes up.
