Hi friends! We wanted to take a moment and tell you about the animal rescue Mommy volunteers for. Dakotas Dream Animal Rescue is a non profit organization dedicated to helping the animals in our area. Donations and volunteers are what keeps the rescue running. Right now there are approximately 50 cats in care (with a never ending list of kitties waiting to be handed over as soon as there is room!), a half dozen dogs, a horse, and a large number of small pets (rabbits, guinea pigs, rats). Aside from the kitties who are being shown at our local Petsmart, all of these animals are in foster homes being well cared for and loved while they wait on their forever homes. We have a group of volunteers who go by 2-3 times a day to check on the babies who stay at the store and let them out for play and snuggles (Mommy takes care of Sunday mornings! :) ). Then every couple of weeks the Petsmart kitties get rotated, so no one is stuck inside a cage indefinitely. The rescue relies on the kindness of the community.
