Hi yall. New here and wanted to introduce myself. First of all I self-identify as an Atheist. No Im not here to bash you or try to deconvert you. I was lurking here for a while as two of my aunts are on here and this is a topic of interest for me. While I might not believe in God (or more accurately, I refuse to call what I do believe God) for other reasons, I dont believe there is a conflict between evolution and God. Nonetheless, I was raised from a YEC point of view and havent had a lot of exposure to the TE/OEC worldview so in the interest of curiosity, here I am. I was actually discussing this group with my aunt last night and I had a question for some of you, or, more specifically, Daniel Eaton. Daniel, you said in one thread that you believe Adam was placed in the garden of Eden but he was not the only human alive at that time. That he became the father of man in his being the first to enter covenant with God, even calling him something similar to C.S. Lewis idea of the first Homo Divinus. This made me think of the two Homo Sapien species, Archaic and modern Homo Sapien Sapien. Basically, this line of thought could lead one to think that perhaps God took an archaic homo sapien and made him Adam, who became the father of modern homo sapien sapien while the rest died off. Is this similar to what you believe?
