I See the USS Biddle talked about…. Just wondering IF My Memory is correct….. Early 80’s The Hart was in Rosie Roads and so was the Biddle… One night coming back from the BARS on the BUS there was a little Issue. The Bus was provided for the NAVY.. I think it was a school bus…. Can’t remember clearly, Anyway… The Bus was segregated pretty clearly…. The Front of the Bus was filled with Biddle Sailors and the Rear of the Bus had the Hart’s…. I know it was Late… Pretty sure Everyone on the Bus had their fill of the Local “spirits” and was certainly not feeling any pain….. From what I remember SOMEONE made a comment about our Master at Arms , Who was on the Bus…. The Bus was almost at the Pier But …it just wasn’t fast enough. LOL … IT didn’t take much before the tranquil bus Ride Experience had turned into a 3D-First Person-MIKE TYSON Video Game… Fists were flying, and Not specifically in any direction or towards any one person. … Well myself, NOT being the TALLEST guy on the Bus, I decided Trying to make my way to the Exit in a Calm, orderly fashion. ( Cough Cough) The ONLY way I figured to accomplish this was bear hugging Whoever I could get my hands on from the Biddle and Lifting them as fast as I could into the roof of the bus….. Pretty effective LOL. The Fight spilled out from both Exits of the bus onto the Pier and down the pier towards the brow of the Hart…. I seem to remember the OOD directed the Quarterdeck PO to pull his Side Arm ????? …… Not sure if that is a clear memory or not. LOL …. Anyway ….. It was dubbed “The battle with the Biddle” …. PLEASE if someone can correct this Story…. Do I remember it correctly??? USS BIDDLE ??... ROSIE ROADS ???? WAS I even there?? LOL
