Hiajb is fard, just like daily prayers are. If our fathers, husbands and brothers are not protective of their female family members, and is indifferent, or worse,shows pride in showing their wives, sisters, mothers and daughters with their hair flowing down, wearing dresses that leaves very little to imagination, there is something very wrong with our social system... If the men are not aware that every time their female dependents are walking down the road, hundreds of hungry eyes are following her moves, mentally calculating her size, then they are merely naive. If the men think its okay for their wives to be around his friends without covering herself completely..cos what the heck, they are my homies...cant trust nobody if I cant trust them., they need to take a reality check on themselves. That very same man has thought, if not uttered aloud, err..that girl looks hot, but her hips couldve been thinner. Your buddies are not devoid of thoughts, lust and moments of weakness. Why is it that our men, who were supposed to be lions, have shrunk down to being mouses who know not how to protect his honor? Has it not been prescribed clearly in the Quran that his wives and daughters are his responsibility? If I have learnt anything in the past few months, that is, leave your problems to Allah, for he is Ar-Razzak, He will provide. Your geographical location, climate, job status, family background, physical disability etc does not exclude you from being a Muslim-You still enjoy everything that Allah has blessed you with.Why should you then give in to excuses? May Allah forgive us, unite us, and grant us hidayah...for we are in dire need of it.
