Holy Lord, Holy & Mighty: As this day draws to a close, we stand on the brink of the 13th Anniversary of a terrible attack on our sense of safety…an attack of enormous proportion on our sense of well-being…an attack that brought more losses of life & property & well-being than we have words to describe. Be with those, we pray, who will feel acutely, again, the loss of loved ones, or colleagues, or friends. Be with those, we pray, who continue to suffer the consequence of the unprecedented attacks on our soil. Be with those, we pray, who continue to live with fear, or dread, or sorrow. As we wander on our journey, we pray for the wisdom to offer words of comfort -- and the Grace to know when we should simply walk beside those who grieve --the Grace to know when to enter into a golden moment of silence…and just hold the grief of another for a moment or two of sweet respite. We know that there will be some who sit beside loved ones tonight, with worry in their eyes, and love in their hearts. We pray that they be able to feel your unending presence…your unchanging love. Love us, Protect us, Bless us. Amen.
