Holy balls. Daddy and Momma (plus baby inside) put away some food! - TopicsExpress

Holy balls. Daddy and Momma (plus baby inside) put away some food! This is only ours! Not pictured is Brunos full rack of baby back ribs, Neve and Emilys sampler platter or Brodies kids meal! Amber was a bit skeptical to have the salmon. I told her that I was certain it would be good and boy was I right. She LOVED it, and she is pretty particular with her salmon! In addition to her salmon, she had steamed broccoli and and a loaded baked potato. The potato was very mediocre as it was seemingly lacking flavor, but Bruno (who also got broccoli) and Amber both destroyed their broccoli, talking about how delicious it was. Daddy got the Kansas City special which was choice of three meats and two sides. I went with beef burnt ends, pork spare ribs and smoked ham. All three of the meats were extremely tender and had outstanding flavor, even before adding additional sauce to the minimal amount they applied. My sides were pit beans, cheesy potatoes and I added the cheesy corn as I know it is wildly popular there. The cheesy corn I thought was a little too cheesy for my liking, but still pretty good. The cheesy potatoes were pretty dang good and not overly cheesy with the potatoes being cooked perfectly...not too crispy and not too soft. The beans...dude...the beans. The beans were PHENOMENAL! I really enjoyed my entire meal, but I would venture out to say that the beans were the best part. They were that good! Bruno really liked his baby back ribs, broccoli, beans and fries. He polished off the entire meal (minus the one rib I had which was very tasty and tender, even better than the spare ribs). I thought the fries were just plain, average, nothing special kind of fries. Emily said she really liked her food and that Brodie did as well. The amount of fries and oranges he had got him singing! David, being the picky person he seems to be, said it alright. He said it was definitely better than the shitty food we got at Arthur Bryants and Brobecks that tested like a mixture of dog shit and dirt. Knowing that we are sauce people, I felt the sauce was average at best. Seemed like just an ordinary sauce from the grocery store (yes I know you can buy it at a grocery store). Additionally, it is definitely the most pricey BBQ restaurant on the tour, so I feel like that takes away from it a bit. It just doesnt have the typical BBQ joint vibe that I like. All that having been said, I obviously HIGHLY recommend this place. It has a pretty broad menu that most everyone would find something they like. If youre looking for a splurge meal (in terms of price) or a special occasion and you are jonesin for BBQ, this could easily be your place!
