Home again and feeling strong and ready to go to trial next week in Cerro Gordo County court in an age discrimation suit. My client ,a woman with 37 years of experience with the City, was twice passed for promotion in favor of much younger women who had NO experience at all with the city and in the second case, had 3 short term jobs with banks. She retired 2 years later because everyday reminded her of what had happened and how unfairly she had been treated. The case was filed in 2009 and the city drug its feet in discovery and I had to file lots of motions to compel and to strike their answer and finally the court ordered them to turn all the stuff I asked for over to me. We have taken 20 plus depos. I have issued about 20 subpoenas for trial. Today, I was not surprised to get their motion to continue the case yet again because they are quite shocked to discover that my expert may actually testify that the city did discriminate against my client in an age discrimination case. They have had his report since April of 2012. Lets hope the judge sees right thru this. R
