Home from my grandmothers funeral....... such a beautiful woman and such and beautiful service. She never kept score. She never made you choose sides. She never judged you, made an assumption, or a decision about you because she knew that we are just humans....flawed, imperfect humans. She gave freely and never ever expected anything in return. She loved you regardless...regardless of how often you saw her, what you did for her, where you lived, how you lived, what you said....or what you didnt say. Simply put, she was truly the epitome of selflessness, forgiveness, and unconditional love. I was never made to feel guilty by her if I fell short....which I always feel I do. I never felt that she loved me based solely on the number of visits we had. I honestly never felt like she could love me any more than she did. Because she loved. She loved completely....consistently...and genuinely. I will miss her so much, but what Ill miss most is knowing that THAT kind of unconditional love is now so hard to find. Because always trying to earn someones love is exhausting. I love you, Grandmom....I am lucky you were such an influential person in my life.
