Indian Time Sunbeams filter my conscious Flirting, coaxing, dancing Across furrows, dusty, ungiving fallow Cool breeze, wafting Sleep falls, as Harvest moon, returns to, Father sky Bubbling coffee, black as night, KIsses a cast iron stove, Hissing "Bluebird" rises, beneath a cotton shield Cedar smoke, carries whispered prayers, assuring, a walk in beauty Towards all four sacred directions "Our Mothers" pollen, spills onto painted bodies Turtle shells bounce, on stamping calves Keeping an ancient beat Unspoken, unwritten traditions, remain To stand the test of man In unison, In balance...in time Written By, Jackson Harris
