Houston Wrestling Community, Please take a few moments to carefully read about a special fundraising event close to Houston Wrestlings heart and share it with your peers and friends within your circle. In lasting memory of David Cooper, a youth wrestler from Houston, Texas that tragically passed away in 2013, a Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in his name and honor. It is the goal of the scholarship to provide those less fortunate with funds and resources the opportunity to experience the sport of wrestling. In order to generate more funds for this great cause, Rhino Wrestling Club and Soul Ruckus Athletics has graciously allowed Without Limits Wrestling Club to create a fundraising component of their “24-Hour Lock-In” for the David Cooper Fund scheduled on December 28th, 2014. The goal of the “Lock-In” is to “Build the Unbreakable” - athletes will gain confidence and mental toughness as they break through mental and (minor) physical barriers, pushing past what they thought their “limits” once were and thus creating new ones. Participants in the Lock-In and clubs they represent are being asked to raise and donate money to the David Cooper Memorial Scholarship Fund as part of their participation in the Lock-In. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED FUNDRAISER PACKET AND DONATION FORMS. 100% of all donations being given to the David Cooper Memorial Scholarship Fund. Being that David was active in the youth wrestling community, we encourage participation of our youth wrestling clubs! In order to accommodate the younger crowd, a condensed “Youth Version” (9a-3p) of the Lock-In was created for only $30, instead of the full 24 hours. Capable parents and friends are encouraged to participate in the event!
