How do I love thee, War of the Wings? Let me (start to) count the ways. And if I seem to have overlooked someone or something, its not intentional: just due to weariness. -- Thanks to Bailey Harris (Edmund) and Vincenzo dEste: the former for lending me some serious tent stakes when I discovered my new ones had been left home; the latter for helping me get my tent erected in the middle of some high winds, and even managing to duct tape the frame securely enough after some wind bursts broke two main couplings. -- Meals with the Equestrian Encampment, courtesy of Heather Rumpf and her always-exceptional cooking. -- Hundreds of hugs from friends long-standing and new. -- Being able to spend time with Bera TheBoss and David L. Smith (Snaebjorn) and my other family from the Shire of Sylvan Glen, without having to wait until next Pennsic. -- Friday nights pork roast dinner (yum!) with The Corsairium and the stomach-aching laughter of Thursday nights NSTIW story-telling session with Anna-Maria Smith (Adeliza) and others. I havent laughed that hard in ages. -- Drifting off to sleep in my bed to the sounds of Gypsy lullabies, courtesy of The Old Dun Cow Pub. You guys rock! -- The many opportunities just to sit and chat with friends. It doesnt happen often enough but its all the more cherished when these opportunities come. -- Seeing friends get well-deserved recognitions in Court, including my protégé Cindy Jenkins (Shrewlet) becoming a Mentor Chirurgeon. -- Hearing my other protégé Daren Brown (Draco) yell out Drink more water, or well tell Shrewlet! That was priceless. -- Swearing my oath of fealty to Their Majesties in the middle of some tall grass in the Equestrian encampment. No sword of state, no formal trappings, just them, me, and two retainers. Thank you Ragnarr and Lynnette for a very special moment.
