How would President Goodluck Jonathan be judged in the annals of Nigeria history?Keep in mind that it is now on record that his presidency has not sailed well.I surmise that if he was asked why his administration failed he would have many reasons to state inter alia.However,I think GEJ as he is popularly called cannot be faulted on assuming his high-powered job.Lets not forget that this was a man that knew his place in life and lived within his means. He was a lecture at a sombre department of science teaching Zoology at the University of Port Harrcourt with less than 20 students, a course that is less fancied by Nigerians.He enjoyed the relatively calm and ease that comes with such a job.He didnt even enjoy politics because it would assert too much on him.He loved his comfort zone and flourished within his solace .Apparently, he was sorted out by his kinsman for the job of a Deputy Governor an occupation that suited his mien;since deputy governors rarely did anything of note, they were just rubber stamps, there was no problem for GEJ picking the job.How Jonathan got elected as the President of Nigeria is intriguing in all spheres.In the first place, he was well loved by the masses especially after the "i had no shoes speech". His rise to power is unprecedented in the history of Nigeria.Mind you, it is not a wonder because he lacked the CV ,but because he did not belong to the caucus of the ruling elite .I think a lot of lowborns like me, celebrated his rise as a breath of fresh air and an omen that the old order was done for; the order of mam know man.Alas, it was not so,GEJ administrative failure has brought a lot of issues to the fore.We now know that if not for the mischief of some individuals who interest themselves in disqueting still waters we would not have had the Jonathan imbroligio on us.Nonetheless, the Jonathan story serves leaders right, who try to install stooge in order to continue to foster their plans and ideas.Now all Nigeria have seen what happens when you disquiet still water, a lot of dirt comes to the surface.Nigerians sit down look.
