Howden Carnival - Afternoon Entertainment Howden’s third Carnival will get underway with the now traditional walking float parade from the new Coop, down Hailgate, across to Bridgegate and in to the specially closed off Market Place. This will commence at 2pm and be led by participants from the percussion workshop held earlier in the Shire Hall. Places for this are free but is already heavily subscribed, so book early to avoid disappointment. If there is anyone out there who would like to take part in the parade either as individuals or as a group feel free to come along, there is a general theme of musicians fancy dress but do your own thing if you wish! Once the parade has concluded there will be a programme of entertainment incorporating a Samba performance, dance, music, street performance and face painting. There will be food stalls, trade stalls and local shops and business’s staying open a little bit later. 1:45 PM Parade assembles in the new Co-op car park 2:00 PM Howden Carnival Parade sets off, led by ‘Honey Drum’ and proceeds around town centre to Howden Market Square 2:40 PM Samba performance by ‘Honey Drum’ and the percussion workshop participants 3:00 PM Dance performance by The Academy of Theatre Studies 3:20 PM Acoustic Trio – Harrison, Brad and George 3:50 PM Mr Zoot: Throughout the day Zoot will be performing and entertaining young and old all over the carnival. 4:30 PM Dance performance by The Butterfly Dance Studios 4:50 PM – Fire Eating Feast- 5:05 PM Tom Smith – Acoustic expertise 5:20 PM The Gherkins
