Huge win for neighborhoods today! The Phoenix City Council Housing and Development Committee passed a pilot program today that will allow the city to foreclose on properties that are abandoned, vacant and blighted. These properties devalue home values and are breeding ground for crime. As a Realtor and Neighborhood Leader I have seen how these properties affect the quality of life and morale of a neighborhood. I want send a huge thank you to Councilwoman Laura Pastor for asking me to be one of the panel of experts to help develop solutions for these issues that I hold so dear. Also huge thanks to Councilwoman Kate Gallego for chairing this committee on this important issue that affects our districts. Gynormous thanks to City Council for passing it unanimously!
