Hypochondria update. It just took me about five minutes to - TopicsExpress

Hypochondria update. It just took me about five minutes to think of the word hypochondria. This is germane to the point. On Sunday morning, I whacked my head pretty hard on a low beam. It hurt a lot, and I was lying down swearing for some time afterwards. I hit my forehead, a bit to the left. It had started to swell and go red by the time I got downstairs. The people I was staying with all agreed I needed some ice on it, so I accompanied them to a café for breakfast with a bag of peas pressed against my head. I jettisoned the peas before we ate. I suffered no dizziness, vision problems or disorientation at the time. There is now almost no swelling or redness. The problem is that I cant work out whether Im currently feeling a little groggy and headachey or not, especially given the complicating factor that Ive been teaching for the last three days and have had about seven hours of sleep since Monday. I think I might have a headache in the area where I was hit, but then I might just have a headache and be thinking about that part of my head. So, who knows enough about medicine to reassure me that I should just wait and see how I feel tomorrow? What are the odds that Ill die of a brain haemorrhage overnight? Should I allow the knowledge that the part of my skull involved is about the hardest bit of bone anywhere on the human body to confirm that Im fine? Go.
