Ive had three major life lessons/reminders repeatedly drilled into my head the past week or so. Gratitude: I am so grateful that I had the chance to reconnect with my father, establish a close relationship with him--closer than we ever shared during my childhood--and allow that relationship to foster and grow for almost three years. Would that we had had more time together, but in the words of Kurt Vonnegut, so it goes. I am grateful to my stepmother, Diana, who found me on Facebook and got the two of us talking again. I am grateful that I have gained a second mother and four wonderful brothers and sisters whom I adore. I am grateful that I have so many people in my life who care about me and are there for me in times of need. I am grateful that the person I love most is still a part of my life and will always be there for me, no matter what happens between us moving forward. I am grateful for my family--ALL of you, close or extended, moms or dads side, whatever. I love you guys, and you know who you are, if youre reading this.
