I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO READ THIS. A STUDENT FROM HEDGESVILLE HIGH WROTE THIS ABOUT HER LIFE AS A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ITS SAD THAT SHES GONE THROUGH THIS FOR SHE IS A SWEET LOVING AND KIND YOUNG LADY. SHE WROTE IT TO BRING AWARENESS TO BULLING. Emily Prather 22 hrs · Edited · My life in high school: Entering high school I wasn’t considered a “cool kid”, I dyed my hair crazy colors, wore band tees, had piercings, and I had “emo/scene” hair. I joined a group of people that looked like me, but I never truly fitted in. I got made fun of because of my looks, but it was just little things (I Ignored). Sophomore year turned for the worst; the group of people I hung out with decided to go against me. I’m Emily a bubbly person, I’m nice, and always smiling until this year of my life. They would be nice to my face, but talk bad about me behind my back. So I left the group; I don’t like negativity in my life so I tried to stay away. Every day I would walk into school and get judge by that one group of people. Then one day out of the blue I saw a tweet from someone in that group “Please stop existing you self-righteous, sceenie weenie cunt.No one likes you, or your Koolaid dyed red hair.” These are the exact word from the tweet. Several tweets kept coming telling me to go kill myself and that no one will care if I die. Of course I fed to the conversation with tweets back, but after I saw what I posted I deleted them right after. Why make the bullying worse? This is the first time I have ever showed my friends my life in high school. Junior year I ignored everything besides have anxiety issues/attacks. Now senior year not even half way through the year I’m still bullied. But I found to look pass the negativity in my life and focus on the positive. I have a loving family and friend that keep me strong. I’m only writing this not for attention, not for sympathy, but to make you realize words do have a huge impact on people. Today’s world there is a no tolerance for bullying in school systems. Every Wednesday Hedgesville High School has a class for students to take for the main topic of “bullying”. The question is, Does anyone take it seriously? Yes humans know bullying is wrong, but it just happens in life. . Here are the definitions of some types of Bullying Bully is the use superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do what one wants.
