I MISS MY DADDY How far is Alberta, the little boy said, can we go there tomorrow, ‘cause I miss my dad, I miss him real bad, that sometimes I cry, and if I don’t see him for Christmas, I think might die. So mother, please mother, can we go there tonight, you can use my piggy bank money, to pay for the flight, plus it’ll make him so happy, to see us both there, and I’ll promise, I’ll promise, I won’t shed a tear. Well, his mother said nothing, as her eyes swelled with tears, but she just kissed him good night, and heard all his prayers, and she decided right then, before she turned out his light, that they would fly out to Alberta, on the Christmas Eve flight. ~ Rose Oldford Pestrue ~ 2008
