I accept the Book Bucket Challenge from Anh Tran to list 10 books - TopicsExpress

I accept the Book Bucket Challenge from Anh Tran to list 10 books coming out in my mind: 1. How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie. One of my most favorite books ever. You may or may not want to follow his advice, but Carnegie surely knows how to tell stories and get people engaged. 2. Inferno by Dan Brown. Ive just finished this book early this morning. The usual Browns thriller, its interesting but not really spectacular. The plot twists are nice though. 3. The girl with a dragon tattoo/ The girl who plays with fire/ The girl who kicked the hornets nest by Stieg Larsson. Phenomenon, thats all I can say about this triology (which should have been ten books if the brilliant author hadnt passed away so early). The characterization is incredible. The rather slow pace and the intricate details make it impossible to drop the book once youve start, unless youre not a fan of thrillers. 4. The 48 rules of power by David Greene. Another book that offers advice through real stories with real people. Its not as influential as Carnegies book, but its an interesting read nonetheless. 5. Bloodwork by Micheal Connelly. Im a fan of thriller haha. The plot twist in this story is one of the most surprising Ive read (though admittedly I havent read that much haha) 6. The perfect spy by Larry Berman. The mind-blowing life journey of one of the best spies of North Vietnam, Pham Xuan An. Read and you shall find stories that are realer than any of those legends taught in your history classes. A hero, in my opinion. 7. Living history by Hillary Clinton. Whatever people say about her, I find this woman admirable; not only because shes a pioneering student leader, a successful lawyer, an influential first lady, or a promising president candidate, but also because shes achieved all of these while fulfilling her duties as a wife, a mother, and a woman in general. I wish to become an inspiration like that one day. 8. Markerting in Venus by Hermawan Kartajaya. Recommended by my Marketing lecturer, this book is definitely worth reading, even if youre not an marketing enthusiast. The points given in the book are clear and easy to understand, illustrated with examples of famous brands and people that most people are familiar with. 9. Thi nhân Việt Nam by Hoài Thanh I used to be able to recite quite a number of sections in this book, and Ive lost count of how many times Ive read it. A prominent example of how literary criticism is done when theres no restrictions in the critics way of thinking. The book is rather biased, however, its done its job to reflect a new era in the field of poetry during the 1930s-1940s of Vietnam. 10. Heart by Edmondo de Amicis (Vietnamese title: Những tấm lòng cao cả) My most favorite childhood book, along with Twenty thousand miles under the sea, Sans famille, Grims and Adersens fairy tales, etc. The moral lessons I learnt from the novel means so much more to me than peoples preaching and lessons that ~orient~ us on how we should think (means following some certain ~direction~) Now I challenge Klyn Nguyen Dang Huyen Hoa Bùi Quang Huy Le Quang Trí Vũ Phé Chương Tung Thanh Bui Eddie Nguyen Nguyen Thi Hong Nguyen Ngoc Le Phan Thi Rules: Do not take more than a few minutes and dont think too hard. They dont have to be the right books or great works of literature, just ones that have affected you in some way.
