Melanie needs our help: I have a big issue and I would like opinions on what to do. My pit bull, Saydee, is a very sweet dog (obviously, shes a pit bull lol), and since she was rescued at only a few months old, Ive exposed her to all of my other pets (fish, bearded dragon, second dog) and all of my friends pets (birds and cats) that way she would never have a reason to be afraid or want to attack them. I walk her often, at least 3 times a day because she loves it. Here recently, theres been a cat that jumps out of nowhere and attacks my Saydee! Its a black and white cat that Ive never seen until the day Saydee was attacked. It jumped out of the bushes and sunk all for claws into her face, even bit her! I literally had to reach down and pull it off of her because all Saydee did was lick her face and close her eyes during the whole thing! I brought her to my apartment managers office and asked if animal control could be called, I didnt want it happening again. They refused! I also asked if they could tell me who owns the cat so I could complain, they refused this also. It apparently belongs to SOMEONE, dont know who, that adopted the cat and keeps it outside. Saydee was attacked AGAIN yesterday! I had to go out and buy a spike collar for her, but now Im thinking I may also have to get a spike harness. I dont want people to be afraid of her, but I dont know what else to do at this point. I hate seeing my animals being hurt! And Saydee is too sweet to even attempt to fight back. What do I do?!
