I agree with Ralph Nader that corporatism, or cronyism, or crony capitalism, or whatever you want to call it, is an issue which should unite left and right. The misuse of policy by powerful and well-monied businesses to give them advantages they would otherwise not achieve in the free market, aided and abetted by elected officials seeking to curry favor with them in exchange for campaign contributions, is a corruption of the principles of free enterprise, which this unholy alliance between big business and big government.uses to shield itself from scrutiny and criticism. Corporatism ought to be opposed by all who believe in the free market as the most effective economic system in the world, and all who believe in protecting the consumer, the entrepreneur and small and mid-sized businesses from exploitation by these partners in legalized plunder.
