I always consider myself to be lucky living in America, especially - TopicsExpress

I always consider myself to be lucky living in America, especially how our family got here. It wasnt easy. One grandparent hid in a closet while 5 of his sisters and parents were killed by the Ottoman Turks. Him and his brother survived making their way from Turkey to France who took the poor starving Armenians and gave them homes. He was a young boy. He landed in America through Ellis Island...his name engraved on the wall. My other set of grandparents from Lake Van...via Japan came on ship. My great aunt twelve years old died of starvation on the ship to America. Ive lost most of family tree to the Armenian Genocide. April 24th is the day we remember the 1.5 Armenians that lost their lives at the hands of the Turkish Government. It was real my friends. Make no doubt about it.
