I always like to stay focused on the positive, but - for the sake of context - Im going to say that life is at one of those points that will someday make my memoirs interesting. Just when I was on the verge of letting worry overcome my mojo, this message appeared in my inbox. It was a perspective-changer. Thanks, Brennen! And congratulations! I hope you are doing well! Im sorry I didnt get back to the post about the song you played us in Senior English. I absolutely remember it! I could never forget your class or the things you taught me. I still carry the lessons I learned in your class with me. Over the last 4 years, Ive tried to be the kind of teacher to my students that you were to me. I recently applied to a Principal Leadership Pipeline Program through Teach For America, Chicago Public Schools, and Harvard University. I heard back this week that I was selected for the program. Never in a million years did I ever think Id go to Harvard. I am incredibly excited about the opportunity and looking forward to be a full-time student again. Thank you for believing in me and being a wonderful teacher. I would not be where I am without having had you as a teacher. Thank you again. -Brennen
