I am NOT a pioneer woman, but I do love me some potato soup. Living in Dallas, TX on my own at the age of 17 on a MIGHTY slim budget caused me to learn to LOVE potato soup infused with diced Spam. Another favorite was fried taters liberally seasoned with chili powder. HEY! Dont laugh till you try it! I followed this recipe to the letter and fed Sheila and her mom supper tonight. THEY RAVED! Specially when they came in to a clean kitchen before the meal and the dishes washed after. Left over birthday cake and home made ice cream finished us off. Psssst! Id just as soon have the tater soup with spam, I think. I donno for sure.... fond memories are sometimes sweeter than reality... gonna have to try that again some day. MUCH EASIER! Just cut the taters and the spam up in chunks, cover with water and light a fire.
