I am SO HAPPY. A new level of bliss has been experienced, and it came in the unexpected form of a CAT CAFE. Here I was moseying along the street, inspired to see what was around the area (within WALKING distance, people, of where Im currently staying) and I stumbled across not only a Villa Market (which is like a western grocery store), but a sweetly decorated cafe filled with adorable kitties of all kinds. Flat-eared, fluffy and huge, tiny and stretchy - you name it. Well duh – even without a camera, the first thing I had to do was walk on in. Immediately they ask you to switch your shoes for slippers and wash your hands... Then the doors are opened to you, where a beautiful (giant cat) house-like abode awaits. There are sky-high kitty platforms, and little fluff-balls of cuteness everywhere. Oh – and right in the center around the incredibly cute and fashionably designed furniture is a coffee, smoothie, and cake station with the caption, “Coffe Cake Cats & Conversation”. So I sat down with my hot cup of Earl Grey tea (I mean, 130 baht for one pot... but its worth it) and somehow attracted a few kitties with the sniffles. So began some incredibly enjoyable reiki... but oh wait – then came an intriguing bug-eyed tan kitty (that looks close to the creatures in Men in Black), and then a gray and black cat with bulging cheeks who tried to eat the strings on my backpack... Pretty soon I was covered in cats and absolutely LOVING life. Quick note: A Thai guy told me about this cafe earlier today and I just randomly affirmed OMG Im going there. Coincidence I just happened to stumble into it five hours later? I think not! Law of Attraction, Debbie! This cat cafe is like... heaven, with chocolate, cats, dorky little books about cats, and incredibly beautiful and decorated cakes – with yeah, more chocolate. Whoever dreamt up cat cafes, I salute you. Damn. Its also probably the best form of therapy offered in a city, therefore = double wow. I WILL be going back, and will be capturing fantastic pictures of the place. Its just... so incredible. And oh - if you are IN Bangkok, I am for shizzle setting up a day where we go and enjoy this cuteness in a group.
