I am a ReConstructionist, Post-neoliberal ( thank Providence for Conscious Evolution ) Settler - Sister -Label Carrier. It is not the truth of Who I am. But that is an entire other debate. On so many levels this image filled me with painful reminders that The Rift Exists. So many sorrows borne and carried by so many South -Africans, like that Abba Image...( I shall refrain from going to deep with this, even though there is much to be said... ) That Being Said: I own this. Being brought up, fortunately, on a farm where The Rift of apartheid was somehow softened by the closeness of our community. It was only in my teens where exposure to the unnatural laws, separating people in dissonant cognisance, regarding our varying skin-tones, seriously shocked me. This. Is very much our South-African Story. The Gentle gets lost in the passionate, political rhetoric. My Gogo carried both my Zulu brother and I on her back at once... I still, today, hum the songs we heard her sing, then, through her chores... Bittersweet Abba Memories. Thank You Antjie Krog and Anna-Mari Pieterse.
