I am a co-lead investor/owner (with the likes of Tom Ricketts, Bill Luby, Tom Vertin and Jeff Mallett) in the Derby County Football l Club - the storied team formed some 135 years ago in Derbyshire - playing as our beloved Rams. The team has struggled mid-table for the last 5 plus years - a turn-around was initiated less than two years ago when #SamRush joined the team as President - who then along with #JohnVicars and the core of the management team - brought about a new level of financial and operational and promotional discipline off the pitch - all which was a game changer setting the platform for the day that the new coach - Steve McClaren came on-board last fall - and thus began the slow and steady rise of DCFC from the bottom ranks of the league to an impressive 3rd place today - with a playoff position - and a solid shot at Wembley May 24th - and thus a serious contending shot at promotion to the Premiership League of English Football - one of the most followed sporting leagues in the world. Its been a journey of learning and improving both off the pitch and on the pitch - loyal fans have been rewarded for their patience - less-committed fans are returning in droves for the march to the Premiership - and all are welcome. The journey is far from over - the fun is back for everyone. #COYR is a battle cry you will hear often at iPro Stadium - home of the #DCFC - known on Twitter as @DCFCOfficial.
