I am a police officer who feels trapped in my car and fear for my life. I am being attacked from the outside and being pummeled. Oh, what do I do? Do I drop the car in gear and move away while summing help? Do I go for my gun which results in an altercation which leads me to take a life that didnt need to be taken if I had just moved away. Judgement under pressure is the question here. The officer I described doesnt have it and should never be allowed to be an armed policeman ever again. Except when going after pay raises policemen seem to forget, that just like the military, they are paid to go in harms way. This attitude that an officer should be allowed to do whatever it takes to go home at the end of the day is bullshit. It is not an attitude allowed in war and it damn sure is not an attitude that should be allowed on our streets by people who claim to protect and serve.
