I am an incredibly rich man... So very many of you praying for me - TopicsExpress

I am an incredibly rich man... So very many of you praying for me during this episode. I am blessed beyond measure to have so many of you who KNOW God and have very effectively interceded for me. You have my deepest gratitude. Not only do I have praying friends, but my co-workers are planning several meals for us to help Becky. My work teams are incredible and I count it a privilege to even be named with such a great group. Christina and her brother-in-law, Daniel Clark came to get me from the hospital home. Danny got me here, and Christina and Becky did the meds run... Both, incredibly important items. Please pray for Monica, Dannys wife and her family as she lost her Grandfather this afternoon. While at the hospital, just as the nurse was taking me back to pre/post op, I got to imitate my youngest granddaughter, Andee. Christina is pregnant with our first grandson, so Andee and Kahlan talk to the young man-child in their mothers tummy. The other night Andee said, Good night baby, paused and added, This is Andee. So I greeted the man-child and said, This is Papa... Surgery is over... We had the joy of some wonderful, witty and humurous nurses... I got the lawn mower treatment again, but this time it was only across the belly, and at least MOST of my dignitty was preserved while I was awake. However, once in the surgery suite, I think within five minutes the anesthesiologist was pushing something through my IV and immediately told me Id be out in 15 seconds... He was right on target. While they had me asleep, however, they did AWFUL things to me... (tee hee)... Put holes in my belly and - gasp - catheterized me. How do I know this, since I was asleep? Because every time I try to relieve myself I am tempted to call the fire department to put out the flames. I honestly think instead of a genuine catheterization, they used a roto-rooter. Great team of doctors, very efficient and their statements and descriptions were on the money. This time the worst of it was actually in the hospital, the first time I had to move. That is when I needed the leather to chomp on... Strangely, after the first few moves, the pain meds kicked in and I had an easier time with it. Ive been ordered to walk around for various reasons, so Ive been up and doing the hydrocodone shuffle... Meds every 4 hours so I dont get behind the pain curve and have to play catch up... My surgeon, when visiting me said I need to stay out of work all next week, to plan on returning on a week from Monday, so my original idea of returning to work on Wednesday 1/28/15 is out the window. And he added that if I have to continue pain meds after that I will not be able to work those times or even drive with pain meds on board... So, Im doing the best I can to stay medicated, stay moving, so I dont lose ground. Surprisingly, I do have some pulling at the surgical sites and on into the low abdomen, but not as much raw pain as I had expected, EXCEPT for the UNEXPECTED blessing brought on by the roto-rooter. I think there are three reasons Im doing as well as I am... 1. I had an enormous number of God fearing people praying for me. 2. Probably a result of the meds, so I will not violate my doctors orders... 3. Advances in the surgical procedures have made this surgery much more tolerable. This entire procedure was done with laparoscopic process rather than the old open process I had before. But we are definitely going to have to get somebody to go through catheterization 101 again... For those of you who have put me on your prayer list, I offer heartfelt thanks and my deepest appreciation. While I certainly did not look forward to this process, I was not at all nervous about it, but had that perfect calm that comes from the Lord... Thank you all so very much...
