I am ashamed to belong to the Presbyterian Church of East africa - TopicsExpress

I am ashamed to belong to the Presbyterian Church of East africa which is the very sponsor of the Presbyterian University of East Africa, where I served as The University Registrar for Three years. After resigning my position inJuly 2013 the University was supposed to pay me my gratuity as terminal dues but has refused to pay me up to now in spite of my numerous reminders to the authorities. Worse still the University has paid other officers including those who left this year. I have a letter from the vice chacellor, prof Peter Kibas stating what my dues are, BUT they cant Pay. Why? That the University has no money to pay me yet it is paying its staff every month. I have written to all including the Chancellor who is the Head of the PCEA but still no one wants to listen to me. What am I supposed to do to get paid. like everybody else I need my money to assist me meet my fanancial obligations to my family and creditors. Why should I be subjected to pecunary embarrassment while the university is holding my terminal dues? I served this institution with dedication and to the best of my knowledge, there is no known good reason why I havent been paid yet. Others who left long after me including Former VC Prof. Mbugua and his Deputy Prof. Gichuki. Now, if the Chancellor is the Head of the Church I have belonged since birth cannot intervene for me to be paylid even after I have written to him, why shouldnt I be ashamed of my Church? If a University seeking accreditation with CUE cannot afford to pay its debts, even those to do with payments to officers who have been in its service, how will it justify its quest for accreditation? Can someone convince me why I should continue to be a member of this Church which I have been a member since birth, and which I have served with undivided royalty all my life? I really feel ashamed and disarmed to continue proclaiming membership of a church that shows little regard to its members directly or indirectly. I am appealing to men and women of good will in this Church to intervene on my behalf and that of others in the same predicament. MAY THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD WE SERVE TALK TO AND CONVICT ALL THAT HAVE EXHIBITED THIS DISREGARD AND MAKE THEM SEE THE SUFFERING THEY ARE CAUSING THE FLOCK IN THE CHURCH.
