I am considering starting a small business, a business venture at this point. I have been thinking about this for quite some time now. I would like to find out if anyone would find my help or services useful. My goal is to provide computer related services at a reasonable price vs. the competitors, in Highlands County. Technology is my hobby and my niche, it is what I know best. There are quite a few people that can vouch for my credibility. I am smart, motivated, and have grown up around technology with an interest most specifically in computers, since the age of five. The purpose of this business venture would be to assist and inform when it comes to all things technology, something like a personal tech-support guy but face to face instead of over the phone. Overall, I would like to have the opportunity to inform or teach others how to use their devices or equipment properly and get the maximum potential out of everything. However, I currently have two hiccups in my plan, one is that I am physically disabled. I have Cerebral Palsy and Scoliosis, I am able to get around and do what I have to do just fine, but not quite as easily as the average joe. Furthermore, I do not have reliable transportation. I would have to work from home, or transportation would have to be provided if necessary. I am gearing this business more toward 55+ as I have seen, heard from, and helped quite a few older people recently who have in my opinion been taken advantage of. They all have been provided mediocre quality and service for their money. I believe this is because of the lack of knowledge in this age group, pertaining to current technology and how it all works. And also lack of availability in this area for this particular skill set. This would be available for everyone, I am just putting the idea out there at this point. I am serious and open to constructive feedback. I believe this is where God is leading me right now. I believe God wants me to help others by sharing my knowledge and experience. (Specify needs, decide on price range, inform on current technology.) -Purchasing and or using computer accessories, setup. (Mice, Keyboards, Displays, Printers (wired, wireless, all in one.), Routers, Wireless Routers, Modems, Desktop Audio.) -Software upgrades, or updates. (Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Internet Browser, Plugins, and AntiVirus Protection.) -Operating system upgrades or updates. (Windows: XP,Vista, 7, 8, 8.1) (Mac OS X Mavericks and Yosemite.) -Purchasing internet service and in home setup. (CenturyLink and Comcast) -Setting up wireless or wired home networks. (Getting connected on all computers and internet capable devices in home.) -Purchasing a new cellular phone. (Specify needs, decide on price range, change plan, change service provider if requested.)
