I am halfway through proofing the new book, and 40% of the way through typing up my corrections. It would be nice to think Ill be done in a week or so, but that probably wont happen. Nonetheless, I definitely expect printed copies in my hands by the end of October at the very latest. Completing this book will close out a chapter (nyuck nyuck nyuck) in my writing/publishing plans. After this, I will have removed eight of my prime writing years from consideration, other than message board posts, private journal, unfinished work, deleted work and things that are most likely going to go into the anything left? book that I foresee at some point in the future, not to mention the comic book pages that future technology might permit me to make readable copies of. [On a hoverboard!] There is material prior to those eight years that Id be willing to publish, but it will be much more difficult to dig out and raise to a publishable standard. Ive already written at least two books after those eight years, and Ill write more in the next few years, so its not like theres a shortage of material at present to work on, but publishing this book will be a major step in decreasing the amount of finished work I have to draw on. Much as I realize its a major step towards the day where I have nothing else left to write and need to learn some useful skill, I look forward to it as much as I do to my next cup of Rococo Coffee.
