The difference is that Wattles didnt advocate positive thinking in the way these New Age people use it. Wattles advocated SPECIFIC thinking. That is: thinking in a specific way, which he called the Certain Way. The author of The Secret interpreted it to mean that if you think about good things then good things will happen to you. Wattles theory was that WHAT you think affects objective reality. In fact, Wattles never denounced objective reality. He admitted that you will more likely have a successful business if you build it in a big city rather than in the middle of a desert. ~ Jason Brown
