I am indebted to my friend Lee Midge for these words; I do not - TopicsExpress

I am indebted to my friend Lee Midge for these words; I do not wear my poppy as a religious, political or xenophobic statement. I do not wear it to glorify war, nor boast of battles and conflicts past. I do not wear it to gloat over vanquished foes, nor disrespect their dead. I do not wear it lightly, nor without conscious thought for the reason behind wearing it. I wear my poppy to say Thank you to all the men and women, past and present, who have given us the freedoms that we enjoy today. I wear it to say Thank you to those that gave their today so that we may look forward to our tomorrow, and enjoy it as they hoped they would too. I wear it to let those veterans of all ages still living, know I personally shall never forget their sacrifice and sorrow, and will be eternally in their debt. I wear it so We Shall Remember Them. Lest we forget.
