I am living in absolute luxury, really. I have a huge tv, the best iPad, a great computer, can have any book in seconds, countless great movies, videos and computer games to play anytime, have spend all day in air conditioning, have an incredibly comfortable bed and sofa, have unlimited food and drink of a million different varieties. Anything I want I can buy, right now, and do frequently. I have more than enough money. My house is of perfect size, with space to fit in it everything I want. I have access to practically infinite learning materials and knowledge. My neighbourhood is safe and pollution free. There is a large park directly opposite where Lukia can play with the neighbourhood children. I can easily arrange to go out and participate in many different activities without considering cost. There is nothing that money can buy that I want and havent bought already. All this is absolutely true, thus by any definition it has to be said I am rich, and at a point where having more money would be pointless. historically I have luxuries that would equal the richest of people just one hundred years ago, and in many ways surpass it, in terms of sheer access and availability to satisfy any material desire that arises. Why is it that I have been given these things, be born into this time and this life with all this extravagance? I dont know. But at the very least, I should acknowledge it, for to be given so much and take it for granted, or worse yet, not even see it, what would that make me? It would make me the worst of all possible fools, blind to what is in many, many ways, supremely abundant in material wealth.
