I am no longer a 911 call taker or radio dispatcher.. but that does not diminish the great respect I have for those that still do the job. This is the start of Telecommunicators week (Dispatchers week). I have former co-workers that have been nominated as Telecommunicator of the Year for their center. I couldnt be more proud of them. Gloria and Jeff have been at the other end of people calls and the voice to Ventura County Sheriffs Deputies radios for a combined 65 years. Gloria for 35 and Jeff for 30 years. I am honored to have worked with all the people still doing the job still being the calm voice in the turmoil of life. Off my soap box carry on.
