I am not impressed by you describing the concrete box you live - TopicsExpress

I am not impressed by you describing the concrete box you live in.. My co-pastor and I would preach almost every Sunday: Hold yer Bibles up (and of course EVERYONE did), now repeat after me: THIS is the Word of God, in it I find truth, life and power, I believe what it says, and I ask the Holy Spirit now to help me apply THIS truth to my life, amen. Oh my, what a box we lived in then. I would NEVER have even considered that there was a better way. I would have deemed it heretical, darn near blasphemous to consider anything else. I would not even entertain a thought about it. Thats where I was wrong. When you get to a point where you dont listen and consider, you have allowed fear to dictate what you hear. There is NOTHING that we have to fear in Christ. He has promised to show us the way. I had lived over 20 years of ministry with a Bible in my hand. IF I couldnt find it in there, I didnt do it, it didnt apply or it was me that just didnt get it. Every teaching I taught had to come from there. Every life principle was found in there. I had a relationship with a book. I was married to the book. Thank God for my time in Africa. I now know that God was nudging me. I didnt have time to prepare my 9 page, 37 verse teaching. I was pulled upon to preach for hours at a time with little to no sleep. In those moments, I learned to literally lean upon the Holy Spirit for my bread to give to others. Not only was it more potent, the miracles and signs that followed were too. Once, during a two week period. Whenever we started service and I began to preach it rained. It rained EVERY single time I preached during the service and would stop as I concluded. They began calling me the rain lady. It wasnt even the rainy season. I am thankful that Christ has systematically removed every high thing that exalted itself in my life. Now, my relationship with HIM takes precedence over every thing. There is nothing that I put above Him...nothing. We can talk about what we believe ALL day long. Yet, when we follow Christ, there is a sweet humility of relationship that allows us to consider that what we believe may not be the same as what God does. PK
