I am off to bed. TOMORROW, I am keeping a promise to my adopted grand dad (adopted through choice not legalities) Alexander Edward Cottrell (1914-2009) He died in 2009 a few weeks short of his 96th birthday. Every year TOGETHER, we laid at wreath at Shepherds Bush Cenotaph, at the invitation of the Mayor. This was because Alec had the FREEDOM OF FULHAM so was always 5th in line after the Mayor to lay his wreath, with my help, or that of my daughter. On his passing I promised I would continue to lay a wreath on his behalf, for his own father who FOUGHT IN WW1 with the badge for OLD CONTEMPTIBLE SOCIETY. Alec would have been 100 years old this year....... An extra special year to lay the wreath...... THE CENTENARY YEAR and his CENTENARY year. It will be my honour to lay it for you darling Alec..... A very POIGNANT wreath laying tomorrow.
