I am often asked a question most astronomers likely receive, Have you ever seen a UFO? My answer, yes I have, several times in fact! Take a look at this video. I was focusing my camera on the California Nebula on the night before Thanksgiving and noticed an object moving in my frames. The focus images were one second in duration which rules out planes and satellites since both would have moved out of the frame in much less than one second. The video is 11 seconds long. The rate of movement is also too fast to be a geo-stationary satellite. So what is it? Well, technically at this point it IS A UFO! Unidentified, check, flying, check, object, check so its a UFO. What do I think it is? Most likely it is an asteroid but since I submitted it to the minor planet center I should know soon. A few years ago I reported a similar sighting (but much brighter) that turned out to be space junk from a satellite that the Chinese destroyed. So now when someone asks you if you have ever seen a UFO you can say that you have!
