I am really enjoying reading the past memories of those who grew up in Cobar. It seems to have been very communal and caring. I dare say it reminds me of my own home town in Soweto. I only needed a shilling to go to the movies and have a cream bun and bubbly bubbly. Mum was the local Midwife who delivered babies at home. At times I went with her and carried water as the taps were outside. Is it a wonder I became a Midwife no. Caring for ourselves and others was important. Today just care for yourself and the rest can get !!!! Yet there are still those who care and I prefer to dwell on that.
